Mohd Fairuz Iskandar Othman, PhD

My name is Mohd Fairuz Iskandar Othman. I am a senior lecturer at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). I am currently attached to the Department of System and Computer Communication, and currently lead the Human Centered Computing - Information Systems Lab (HCC-ISL) Research Group.

 

I obtained my first degree - Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) from the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and my masters degree - Masters in Internetworking from the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). I completed my PhD in Information Systems from Queensland University of Technology (QUT). The title of my PhD thesis is "Barriers to the Adoption of Formal IT Governance Practice - A Malaysian Study". This thesis was awarded the QUT Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award for 2016.

I currently serve as an Evernote Community Leader, sharing my knowledge on Evernote. I am  a certified Cisco Networking Academy Instructor at our Cisco Academy here in the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, UTeM. I currently hold CompTIA CTT+, A+ and Security+ certifications. I am also a registered Professional Technologist under the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT).
